An old man sits alone in a quiet room, passing the evening with a simple puzzle.

The rules are straightforward. Each arrow must find its way out. Some are free to leave immediately. Others remain trapped until something else moves first.

As the arrows disappear, memories begin to return.

A railway platform. A forgotten library book. A chance encounter. The woman he married. The son they raised. Small moments from an ordinary life, connected in ways that only have apparent when viewed from a distance.

But memory has its own directions.

Some lead to places we would rather not return to.

DIRECTIONS is an allegorical novella about memory, choice and the paths through life that only make sense when we look back.
